Runners-up of the Barcelona Beer Challenge with 8 medals
On May 29, the Barcelona Beer Challenge 2021 awards were announced, one of the most important beer competitions in southern Europe, and Cierzo Brewing obtained an excellent result, with eight of our beers awarded in their respective categories, which it placed us as the second best brewery in the competition, only behind Basqueland.
This year’s gala was held in Badalona and could be followed live on the Barcelona Beer Festival YouTube channel. The winners gathered there, including two of our founding partners, David Laguarda and Santiago Marco, who had the honor of collecting the eight prizes awarded by the 40 BJCP judges who took part in this edition of the Barcelona Beer Challenge, after tasting blind 1,157 beers, brewed by 232 different brewers.
Among all the winners, it is worth highlighting the Italians Birrificio Torre Mozza, who picked up our witness as the best new brewery, and the Aragonese breweries Artillera and Bachiella, as a sign of the great state of the craft beer sector in our region.
