A very special day in Zaragoza
From October 8 to 16, the Pilar festivities are celebrated this year. Nine days in which Zaragoza is filled with all kinds of festive events, from the most traditional and religious, to concerts, fairs, exhibitions and endless activities.
But without a doubt, the most special day will take place on Wednesday, October 12. That day, thousands of people from all parts of Aragon, and even from other parts of Spain, gather in the center of the city to make the traditional offering of flowers to the Virgen del Pilar. A true spectacle that brings together locals and tourists in the streets, to admire the parade of regional costumes that runs through the streets of Zaragoza that day.
The offering of flowers is the central event of the 12th, but not the only one, since taking advantage of the holiday, many families and groups of friends gather to eat that day in houses and restaurants, and enjoy the great atmosphere that lives in Zaragoza.
Local product, great quality and cheap price
This is the menu that we have devised in our brewpub for this Pilar Feast Day 2023, with 4 main dishes and a dessert. In addition to Aragonese products, the menu includes coffee, water, bread and 2 pints (47 cl) of beer to choose from Brewpub Series, that is, the beers that we make in our own brewery. To adapt to all tastes, you can also pair the menu with wine, opt for a vegetarian Pilar menu, or our children’s menu, for the little ones in the house.
This is the full menu:
- Fuentes onion stuffed with boletus with tuber melanosporum truffle juice.
- Borage stew with clams in saffron sauce.
- Monkfish and crayfish stew with red coral juice.
- Ingot of lamb in its juice, roasted apple cream and its crispy skein.
- Caramelized brioche French toast, Calvados creme anglaise and vanilla ice cream.
